Slide

What is it with kids walking up the slide? It used to bug me when I worked in daycare. Now that it just me and my son, I don't really care.

I have probably said "up the stairs, down the slide a million times"

Valentines

Morgan was home sick today :-(

So we finished his valentine cards.

I took a picture of him punching the sky. Then I glued a happy valentines day heart onto a sucker. I used an excto knife to cut a slit above and below his fist. Then we slid the sucker in the slits.

I got the idea in family fun magazine.

The link this month fell on Super Bowl Sunday. So I struggled with my theme. Should I do football or valentines day?

I did both :-)

Mouse in the house

Morgan is home sick for the 3rd day in a row.
He was sitting at the table looking through my family fun magazine, when he found this fun idea.
We had almost all of the ingredients :-)

Here's hoping he fells better tomorrow! But with our luck it will be a snow day!

My favorite Sunday each month is the link Sunday.

The link is when new people to our church are invited to meet with the pastors of our church.

There are special refreshments for this special group. That's where I come in.

Party Fever

We are throwing a monkey themed baby shower for an old friend.

When my brain is in party mode everything I see "could" be used. All these green Christmas decorations that are marked way down look like jungle decor to me.

I found these for 50 cents each at hyvee.

Morgan and I were talking about how much he needed his face.

He said he needed his eyes to see

his mouth to talk

and his ears to listen.

So I said, "What do you need your nose for?"

Completely serious and with a straight face, he said "for sniffing and for picking"

Christmas gifts

I used two of my Christmas gifts today for dinner.

I made BBQ pork in my new small crock pot (thanks mom & dad)

Then I made some onion rolls (a Rachel Ray recipe) in my new casserole dish (thanks Grammy Gleason)

Yummy!! Now we off to the movies.

Christmas cards

The tree is coming down, the lights ate being rolled up and the Christmas cards that folks have worked so hard to fill out, address and get to you before Christmas, are going in the trash. WHAT!! There has to be a use for old Christmas cards!! Usually I trim them up and use them as gift tags the following Christmas, but this year I have a new plan :-)

Morgan is always reminding me to add a note to his lunch. What kind of note can you give a five year old who can't read? Christmas Cards!!

New Year

I Know, I Know!! I have been MIA for so long. My new years resolution was to get back on the blogger wagon, so here I am, one day late. Better late then never, right!!??!!
So my first frugal find for the new year was not something I came up with. This beautiful rug was a gift for me from my mother-in-law. She made it out of old sheets.
